Italian dressing mix

2 tablespoons oregano
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons onion powder
1 1/2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1/4 teaspoon thyme


Mix all together and store in an airtight container.


To make dressing:



Mix together 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 2/3 cup good olive oil, 2 tablespoons water, and 2 tablespoons dry dressing mix. Best to let sit several hour so the flavors blend. The dressing will separate...just stir immediately before serving.

Options:
  • more sugar if it seem too tart
  • red pepper flakes for zip
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground bell pepper
